The room

A squeezed little space,
kept warm on purpose

Happiness sits at the quiet end of Ying Wa Terrace, facing an open platform above Sai Wan. Around ten seats, shelves of single-origin beans, and orders written by hand on a slip of paper.

It is mostly one person behind the counter, so things arrive when they are ready. Regulars treat that as part of the pleasure — coffee brewed properly, sandwiches toasted fresh, and a room that fills up with neighbours.

“I lived one street down for almost a year in 2024, and always went back to Happiness for breakfasts or late brunch. Loved by the community, this little spot serves the best food and drinks. I don't drink coffee but all their teas and milk teas are top notch. The aunty that owns the place is the nicest lady and fills the small space with a lot of warmth. I still go back frequently whenever I find myself back in Hong Kong. Bring cash!”

“It is located at a niche position facing an open platform, so it is quite cosy to have a coffee break here although it got around 10 seats in a pretty squeezed space. It mainly offers dipped coffee with various coffee beans and just a few food items. The sandwich was freshly made and toasted. Quite crispy. The portion was pretty big. The coffee was a balanced one. A little fruity but no bitterness.”
